The sun has set. The landscape is
silhouettes of fall trees and hills and mountains with dusky color,
yellows, greens and browns. The grey clouds give way to patches of
blue.

We are in our last two hours of the
best bus ride ever.

The usher comes by with beverages. He
is wearing a periwinkle blue bow tie and a smirk.

“Tea?” I ask.

He shakes the empty tea pot. None
left.

“Out? Ok, Coca Cola?” He hands me
a cup of Coke and goes on his way.

The mountains are huge in Turkey. They
are giant curtains on the edge of our view. The peaks reach up to
the clouds who obscure them from sight.

Grant and April sit in front of me
laughing as they watch The Office on
April’s mac. The rest of us are taking advantage of the free
wireless. Yep, wireless on a bus. It’s pretty awesome.

Unfortunately, in
two hours this bus ride has to end. We will be expelled from our
comfy seats and forced to face the unknown in Ankara. We don’t know
where we’re sleeping tonight, nor what we’re doing tomorrow. It’s
amazing how wonderful a bus ride can be when the alternative is cold
uncertainty.

Still though, I
suppose that’s what we asked for.

Adventure. The
unknown. The search of God’s will. And sore fingers and voices from
playing music all across Turkey.

I’ll let you know
what happens next ASAP.
