The wind, and thus the fire, calmed down last night.  My four housemates and I slept safe and sound at home.  However, today, the winds picked up again.  The picture below was taken from a balcony in my office.  You can’t see the leaping flames in the picture, but as I was watching, a line of fire shot up the left boundary and quickly climbed the hill.  On the right, next to the tree, there was a large blurry section of bright orange.  This fire is still very much alive.
 
No homes have been destroyed and less than 200 acres have burned.  While that is still troubling, it could be much worse.  The danger may be far from over though.  Winds are forecasted to gust at 60 miles per hour today.
 
There are rumors the fire was started by arson.
