Right now I’m in New York City, in Manhattan. I’m sharing a hotel with friends from Team Beautiful Feet. Tres is reading a book on the floor. Bambi and Nicole are in the bathroom getting ready for bed. It’s 12:30, and earlier we ate Frank’s on 2nd Ave and 5th street celebrating Berkleigh’s birthday. On the floor are 3 huge packs and scattered supplies all over. My own pack is checked in luggage storage at JFK ,and I’m practicing living on less with my little daypack which has about 3 days worth of clothes in it that I need to stretch for 6 days. This adventure has begun, even if this is just a little prelude.
I want to share some information about our ministry in Ireland. My teammate Lauren wrote a great post about what we’ll be doing to serve those in Ireland. Here is the link to her blog:
And here’s a little teaser:
“August 15-22 we will be working at Ballinderry camp with at-risk children and their families in the Wicklow mountains (that’s the Wicklow mountains to the right). The camp is a time of spiritual nourishment for kids and families that the Mission is in contact with. In traditional camping style, we will be sleeping in tents for the week. (We’ll also be in tents during training our first week in Ireland, so my first 2 weeks will be in a tent!) Each day of camp consists of session times, activities, outings, meals, and games!”
What do you think?! Pretty cool right?
