What does that really mean?

I have never really thought about that phrase pre-race. But, during my time with the World Race I have thought about it more and more. Many people on my squad have used that phrase and even got a tattoo that said Kingdom.

‘For the Kingdom’ means, to me, that I am serving God to greater His Kingdom. During my race I never really thought about how I am making His Kingdom greater. There are things that I have done like: prayed for people, help served the church during service, set up activates for the church, handed out free donuts & cokes, helped build a house, move bricks for a church, move dirt and other odds and ends.

The day after one of my team members got hurt and left to go to the hospital I was moving bricks by myself and wondered why I was doing this. See my friends get hurt for what? Am I really impacting someone’s life or just working to build something. I know that helping to build a church that is going to make a difference in someone’s life that I don't know. They have been building the church for five years and it looks like a couple months.

Before our time here in Cahul, Moldova; it was not a thought in my mind that I was doing something 'For the Kingdom'. But through the process the thought has came up. When you are working 'For the Kingdom' God is more on your mind than usual! I have really enjoyed being having God on my mind and thinking about His kingdom.
Today while we were working, I realized that 'For the Kingdom' is sometimes doing the prep work for the ministry. It might not always be fun doing work 'For the Kingdom' but God calls us to come after him. (Matthew 8:34) As the rest of the verse goes that we need to pick up the cross and follow. It is not always easy to pick up my cross every day. I have to choose to get up and do His work.

Word for thought: Are you furthering God’s Kingdom? It doesn’t matter what your job is or how old you are, are you helping His Kingdom?
