Today is the day!!! We are leaving for Albania at 5:45 Atlanta time. I am so excited to start this journey that God has called me on. I know some might think that it is going to be all daisies and rainbows. But this has already been the hardest thing I have ever done. Saying goodbye to me parents, close family and friends at the airport in Alaska was heart breaking. But that is how I know this experience is going to be rewarding. This is how I know that God is leading the way because He is leading the way and allowing me to do the things that break my heart. Now God has room to move in my heart and be my everything. Because as much as I would like to say that Jesus is my everything and all that I rely on, in American society He has to complete with so much. And now that all that is stripped away He can be the King of my heart, the one I rely on instead of family and friends, and the one to truly lead the way (because honestly half the time I don’t know what the plan is or where we are being led haha).
Launch has been amazing, not only have I been able to spend time with my specific team and bond with them, but I have been able to spend time with three other awesome women of God that I shared a hotel room with. To say that sharing a small room will bring people together is an understatement!!
My whole squad is AMAZING!! And the good news is that we will be staying together for the first month of ministry!! That’s right, this is not a common thing on the World Race but we get the privilege to spend the first month together and continue to grow in community and serve together. What is my ministry? Well we will be serving at a summer camp for kids any age from elementary school to high school. I was beyond excited about this because I love kids and sharing Christ’s love for them. I already know that God is going to move in their hearts, where anything is possible.
WELL as I write this, I literally have 30 minutes to pack my bag and get out of my room…..can you say procrastination?? SO all for now.
Also, right now I am 56% funded, so if you are reading this maybe consider becoming a monthly donor or telling someone about my trip who you think would like to support me. Also share my blog with everyone one!!!
