Hello out there! I am currently in Quito, Ecuador! We made it here this past Tuesday after a few days of debrief in Banos, Ecuador. Ecuador is absolutely beautiful! I can’t wait to see what the Lord has for myself and the rest of B Squad this month!
This month my team and I are serving at a home for teen moms. We get to love on the girls and cuddle the babies every day. The Lord totally knew what my heart needed.
Before I wrap up my Peru blogs, I wanted to share the top 10 things that I want to be sure to remember about my time in Peru.
Here we go…in no particular order:
10. A little boy named Freddy singing Abba’s “Dancing Queen” to us in his broken English every single day the first week of ministry.
9. The annoying car alarm that went off (what felt like) every hour, every single day.
8. Playing in the street with the kids every day. It was hard but it was so worth it to see the smiles on their faces.
7. Going with other volunteers from Camino de Vida to help distribute free wheelchairs to disabled people.
6. The man with the boombox that wandered around our neighborhood every night BLASTING 1980s love ballads. It was amazing.
5. Alex falling out of her chair at supper.
4. The time we got lost in a cab on our way back to La Victoria. The cab driver was mad. We were terrified. There were 5 of us in the back seat. It was a good time.
3. The night we had to fill a kiddie pool, on the first floor, completely with buckets (and pots) of water from the kitchen on the second floor. Hilarity ensued and it was one of my favorite nights in Peru.
2. Getting to bond with my team as we cleaned walls and swept floors.
1. Getting to join a few other girls from my team and squad and go to MACHU PICCU. It was so awesome and hard and amazing and ALL THE THINGS.
Living overseas is all that I expected it to be and also so different than I expected it to be. The Lord is working and I am trusting that He will continue to work in me and those around me as we serve Him.
