“Teach me to do your will, for you are my God;
may your good Spirit lead me on level ground.”

Psalm 143:10

What
will I do after the race? I hear that questions wayyyyyyyyy too much, but I
understand the reason it is being asked. I have some ideas, but nothing
concrete yet. I’m realizing more
every day that I shouldn’t try to find or look for the will of God, or to much
less understand the will of God. It’s not
a matter of information, but a matter of
obedience. I’m learning more and more to be obedient to what God
desires.

I receive a note from a dear
friend in the Philippines back in January (Month 5). I want to post a portion
of it for my readers to view:

Six things to think about:

-God’s will for me is to be saved! (Good
thing I amJ)

-God’s will is for me to not only
be saved, but to be spirit-filled! Everything
finds its appropriate place when you are controlled by the Spirit.

Check out Ephesians 5:15-21.

-God’s will for me is to be separated from sin,
to be sensitive
to sin!

God
makes us miserable through conviction, to make us joyful through confession.

-God’s will for me is to be submissive!

-God’s will is that I suffer

“It is better, if it is God’s will, to suffer for doing good
than for doing evil.”

1 Peter 3:17

-God’s will is that I have a thankful heart!

Give thanks in all
circumstances, for this is God’s will for you in Christ Jesus.”

1 Thessalonians
5:18

If I am saved, spirit-filled, sensitive,
submissive, suffering, and have a thankful heart my opportunities are endless.
If these things are true in my life, it is given that God is controlling my
wants. The Lord simply wants me to experience great pleasure and joy in His
presence. I know, realize, and recognize the talents, gifts, and abilities that
the Lord has given me. I know that if I am using these gifts for the Lord’s
kingdom, God will be pleased. In saying that, I do believe that God has given
me freedom and the flexibility to choose what I will do with my life to a
certain extent with post-race plans as long as I recognize the six things above.
I will be sharing in a future blog some of the talents and gifts the Lord has
given me and what I am leaning towards doing when my race and post-race is
complete. Don’t hesitate to share any words of wisdom you might have for me.
Stay tuned.
