So if you haven’t yet noticed, I am currently involved in my
SIXTH month of ministry which puts me over the halfway mark on my 11th
month trip! I’ve made village visits in Zimbabwe,
lived at an orphanage in South Africa,
served schools and hospitals in Swaziland,
took prayer walks in China, sweated
doing physical labor in the Philippines,
and now am visiting these four orphanages here in India.
I have really benefited from these last 6 months here on the
race. I’ve learned patience through 30 hour bus rides and 35 hour train hauls. I’ve slept in train terminals and airport concrete. I’m even more of a pro at taking public transportation and have mastered the international language: sign language. I’ve had many
God-encounters with people, pushed out of my comfort zone numerous times, and
have understood more and more not to put God in a box. I’ve learned and
realized the importance of resting,
that words can speak life or death,
and that PRAYER IS POWRFUL. I’ve
already made life-long friends that will continue to press and speak into my
life.
Since committing to the race, I have
written 40 blogs; 14 before launching and 26 since leaving America. I have
written about events, feelings, and opinions. I’ve tried to switch up my
blog styles; using photos, hour-by-hour blogs, personal stories,
and top # of things I’ve enjoyed about a particular country. I really do
enjoy writing these blogs and many of my readers have expressed that they enjoy
reading them. A majority of my audience have financially supported me so I feel
it is my responsibility to keep my supporters up to date on what I am doing
during these eleven months.
We, as a team, have feedback six nights a week. We encourage each other, speak life into each other, and point out areas where we can improve– all in an attempt to become more like Jesus
and help spread the gospel more effectively
wherever we go. Sometimes I think that feedback sucks and I don’t always
like it, but that is usually when a team member speaks truth to me that’s
difficult for me to accept.
I want to take the
opportunity for you to give me feedback, and I encourage you to do so. I need solid, honest
feedback on my blog. Before the race, I never blogged in my life- so
this was a first for me to do. So how am I doing? What am I doing well? What am
I not doing well? What can I write more on? Less on? What kind of blogs do you
want to see more of? Less of? ETC! Let me know!
Please leave a comment below
or contact me via the blog as many of you are doing.
I have five and half more months of ministry and blogging
and I strive to do my best to fill you on what is happening here on the race. I would value your FEEDBACK, as well as
your continued prayer J
