Update: As of June 12th, I only have four countries that need adopting! Praise God! My jars for Nepal, Botswana, South Africa, and Macedonia are still available, however, so please contact me soon if you’re interested!
Hello to all! I have officially finished my finals (and let me tell you, sitting in my room at 12:55 on a Friday with no class to go to is a strange feeling). Thank you so much to all those who prayed for me, fed me chocolate, and sat with me while I studied and struggled throughout these past two weeks. I’m pretty confident in saying that this was one of the hardest finals seasons I’ve had to date, but God is good, and it’s over!
I wanted to tell you all about a cool new fundraising opportunity (as well as selling shirts; if you’re interested in snagging an awesome shirt or tank, check out my Plain White T’s post!) I’m starting; for lack of a more punny name, I’m just calling these Country Jars!
Here’s how this works: I have a jar designated for each country I will be going to, and have filled it with facts, pictures, and prayer requests, for each country. It costs $50 to “buy” a jar; you can request whichever jar you would like, and I’ll send you your choice (but do it soon so that you get the country that you want!). From there, put the jar on your counter, at your office, or bring it to your school or small group or church. Fill the jar with loose change or bills. Invite your friends and neighbors to help fill the jar. You can also include notes or verses that you would like me to read when I’m in that country (it would mean the world to me to have encouragement from back home while I’m on the field). Once your jar is full, send it back to me. And here’s one of the best parts; As a thank you, I will send you a gift from your adopted country!
The countries up for adoption are: India, Nepal, Thailand, Cambodia, Vietnam, Greece, Macedonia, Bulgaria, Botswana, Swaziland, and South Africa
