Shalom!

It’s been a while since I posted, and we’re 7 months into this World Race! While reflecting on the last 8 countries I’ve traveled to and from with my squad, I have realized how normal things seem these days. Things like meeting with strangers, hugging people who have no idea what you’re saying, eating food with no idea what it is, and crossing borders! After 8 countries crossing a border at the end of our month seems like the most normal routine, but I’m trying to remember that this isn’t an everyday activity. Unless of course you work at the border 🙂

So I’d like to show you a glimpse of what our travel days look like through pictures! Thanks to HUJI, below is a day in our lives of crossing from Cambodia to Thailand. Welcome to Q Squad, and don’t forget your passport and emergency TP for travel day! (The first photo above would be my travel position on top of our big packs for 8 hours as we left ministry and went from Kampot to Siem Reap, Cambodia)

*Left Siem Reap, Cambodia at 3:30*
*Arrived at the border approximately 5pm*

First Border Stop! Exiting Bus #1 to fill out Cambodia exit info.

About an hour of waiting for the whole squad to go through those lines.

Day Packs in Hand! And of course, snack bags. No telling if we’ll get to stop for food in the next 24 hours!

Once all the squad has passed through Cambodia Exit – Let’s Walk!

Thankfully our big packs were carried for us from Cambodia to Thailand, so looks like just carrying our day packs and snacks.

PS: I’m always amazed by the businesses and people who work around the border. Which country are they from? Do they always have to go through a lot of security just to get to work? If you have any input on this, shoot me an email. Just a curiosity.

Made it in! Welcome to Thailand!
*Approximately 7pm*

(Quick bathroom break, and stop at the mall before boarding our 2nd bus)

Our Leading Ladies – Logistics Coordinators
They get us from country to country each month!
(Thanks Sporty Girls)

I’ve never seen a country that Brianna couldn’t sniff out donuts in!
(Dunkin at the border)

Let’s start Bus #2! Grab a seat.

Since we’re a small squad, there’s much more space! (Thank you private busses)
Spread out and get comfy for the next 12 hours.

Light! We have arrived at our Chiang Mai Ministry location for the month.
OR so we think. Logistics will get off the bus to check first.

ARRIVED!
Chiang Mai, Thailand
Zion Hostel
*Approximately 8am*

Time to unpack in our rooms and prepare for Debrief.

If you made it through my travel day pictures, thank you for joining and welcome to the next country! We have now been in Chiang Mai for 5 days and will start ministry tomorrow, with the whole squad. Thailand is our last country in Asia before we leave for Africa. Until next time!

Thank you for reading!
