Hello from Guatemala! We arrived this afternoon to our first mission location, which is an orphanage/school for special needs children an hour north of Guatemala City. Along with helping out with the kids and meals, we will be doing some repairs and painting and other maintenance. There are 10 kids and they range in age from about 5 to 14 years old. We are spoiled to have several luxuries at this location, including a washing machine, running water showers, and wi-fi! Some of our tents are set up in a construction area they have behind the orphanage. I may spend my first night on the wooden floor in the school though. It's warm in here. 🙂 It seems like we'll rotate between sleeping in tents and on floors. There are 13 of us World Racers at this ministry location (my team of 7 plus another team of 6). I'll be taking pictures to post, so you'll be seeing and hearing more about our time here in the next couple days!
