I have always wanted to be on the Amazing Race TV show, but how much cooler is this i thought?! I was captivated by the World Race when I first heard about it 3 years ago, did I ever think I would be going on it? It was a thought i had once or twice . . .and then I applied for it and immediately it hit me. I JUST DID WHAT?! Yep, I just decided to give my life to God for a whole year, live out of a tent and backpack, & love those who I come in contact with!
That’s right, I am headed overseas with a bunch of young adults to shake the nations with the love of Christ for 11 months! The countries I am going to be traveling to be: China, South Korea, Thailand, Cambodia, Malaysia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania, Kenya, Rwanda, & Uganda. We will be loving on orphans & widows, pouring out real love to prostitutes, & working beside the people many consider dirty or unworthy. There is no telling what we will get ourselves into, but I know that where God calls, there we will be, in the middle of it all!
What life is going to look like for me over the next year, I am not entirely sure of. What I do know is that God is good and when He shows up, He usually rocks my world in ways I have never experienced. I am sure that living in 11 different countries around the world will be a trying experience for me, but one I will never forget.
The total cost of the trip is $15, 550. I am also in need of gear, a few plane tickets, medical insurance, and vaccinations!
