Let me introduce you to my dad. He is a lover of all things outdoors, that includes but is not limited to hiking, hunting, fishing, camping, 4-wheeling, stargazing. He can build just about anything, it may not always be what the instructions say, but he will put it together even if it takes super glue. He is super handy when it comes to cars, electrical, and construction. He can cook like no one else and will never be able to tell you the recipe because he cooks by taste, not by recipe! He can teach you how to skin a deer or gut a fish, and then show you the perfect way to cook it. He is gutsy and adventurous. He has broken more bones doing crazy things in his younger years, and still like to push the boundaries on what is safe. He is a lover, fighter and protector, he is my dad.
I recently had the opportunity to see both of my parents when they visited me in Thailand at the beginning of September. My dad has been suffering from chronic back pain for as long as I can remember. He had complained of bad back pain before coming to Thailand and even was worried about flying because his back was pretty messed up. They arrived a few days earlier than me and hurt his back even more when the got to Thailand. My dad gets shots in his back and takes strong medicine to try to help his back and has even considered getting surgery done, it has just been causing him that much pain. My mom had set him up a doctor appointment for the Tuesday morning for their trip. THat morning a few of us racers and parents were sitting at the table eating breakfast. My dad said something about his back and I was thinking we just need to pray. I looked across the table at my friend Kori, and we both said lets pray! So we got up from the table grabbed another gril Kelly, and we had my dad stand in the middle. We asked him where the pain was and laid our hands on his back. The three of us began to pray, you could feel the warmth and the twitching taking place in his back. We prayed and then asked him how it felt. He moved around and bent over and said there was no pain at all. He even said he could feel things moving when we prayed. That morning God healed my dad. After countless years of pain, my dad has been healed.
I still check in on him since he has been gone but he tells me every time THERE IS NO PAIN! Praise God! I am always blown away when God shows up and even more so that it happened for my dad. Let me say it again, healing is not just for biblical times, physical healing is FOR TODAY!. God can and wants to see us made whole. My dad is currently remodeling parts of our house and that has been something that has always caused him great pain, but I am believing that he will no longer struggle with back pain. I also believe that my dad received more than just physical healing that day, but that God was able to touch and release something deeper. I love you dad, God is your father and healer.
