Wow, what a month.
I returned from a week in Mexico on July 10th after helping launch our new July 2008 World Race team. Though the launch had its logistical challenges, it was a fantastic week of training! The squad has already finished their month in Mexico and is currently moving on to their ministry placements in Guatemala and Nicaragua. 32 Individuals have begun an amazing journey around the world.
On another front, our January 2008 crew has finished their three month stint in southern Africa and are currently in route to India. Praise God for his protection as the group faced quite a scare as they were robbed at gunpoint in their innocent hostel in Johannesburg, South Africa. While some replaceable items were taken, their resolve could not be more intense as the move into the last half of their World Race experience.
This month we also said goodbye to our September 2007 crew. 11 months in Asia, Africa and Central America finished, done. They return to family and friends and whatever the future may hold for them. They encountered some amazing people along their way (see Team Ignite’s story about Baby Moses).
Looking ahead, in one week we hold a Training Camp for 60 individuals set to depart in October. They will convene here in Gainesville, GA for a week of inner healing, team building, and equipping for international cross-cultural ministry.
This is the ministry to which God has called me. Between this incredible influence and kingdom ministry, I am blessed with my “Band” of friends – some of the most committed and faithful friends I’ve ever had. I joined a church this month that I am going to help launch a missions program in. I could not be more convinced that I am exactly where God wants me.
Every dollar contributed to my ministry goes into service of these amazing young adults who are being transformed before my very eyes into ministers and missionaries today. I am currently in need of more support – I have some amazingly faithful monthly supporters and they have kept me afloat and able to continue my ministry to this point.
