I wouldn’t normally post on a Sunday…most people don’t read blogs on Sundays or so our research suggests.
But I want to capture this moment. Right now seventy college students are walking through a moment of surrender. It’s a precious, sacred moment…
It’s a moment that says “yes…regardless…” It’s a confrontation of “what ifs” and “can’t misses” because there’s something more…something deeper. They could be working…they could be at school…they could be in relationships or working alongside family or even doing something to better the world elsewhere, but they’re not…because they’re here.
I marvel sometimes at the faith of our generation. Sure the “adventure” is tantalizing, but the cost is high. A cost that says “this is important.”
Sometimes I believe we think something is important because we say it’s important. When in reality, it’s actions that truly validate our priorities. Indifference and inaction either make us liars, hypocrits or wishy-washy. And we are none of those things. We are sons and daughters of God who believe that following God’s directives in obedience is not only our responsibility…but the thing that brings us life.
I’m watching life emerge from the death right now. I’m watching the superficial being traded for destiny…and it’s beautiful.
