Hey all, we made it to Lima, Peru this morning at around 2am Eastern Time. I am sitting in a STARBUCKS looking out over the Pacific Ocean (a first encounter for me by the way) looking at a spectacular red and pink sunset.
We raced today and had a BLAST! Props to Ann for all her hard work to make our races a little more intellectually stimulating rather than just footraces. Many teammates will write in more detail than I have time for at the moment but the race included (among other things) swimming in the ocean, eating cow heart (don’t worry Hannah, we still love you), racing through catacombs, China town, historical monuments and a trip by the President’s house. It was fabulous.
We have a lot to look forward to, we have orientation tomorrow with some missionaries here and in the next couple days will be starting our lives here in Lima. Nicaragua was beautiful, we spent three days in Rivas, Nicaragua directly on Lake Nicaragua. Swimming in the freshwater lake in the shadow of Volcano Concepcion was a beautiful experience. Many blogs and thoughts are on their way so check back soon for more!
Until then!
