Three and a half years ago I moved to Gainesville, GA to begin a new season of life. I came on to develop a Training protocol for the World Race and since that time have invested in areas, departments, programs and relationships across an organization and across the world.
Have you ever had that moment where you feel two opposite emotions at the same time? For me it’s the emotions of “where has the time gone?!” and “wow, it’s been a long three and half years!”
The seasons are shifting come this fall and I’m excited to add to my responsibilities and begin a new position at Adventures in Missions.
Beginning this fall, AIM’s Short Term Missions for Teenagers (“Adventures – Youth”) will come under my director’s responsibility and I will take the position of “Program Coordinator”. Short term missions has been the bread and butter of AIM since its inception twenty-two years ago. It’s contributed to the majority of it’s recent 90,000 missionaries sent overseas celebration!
My past experience in youth missions sets me up well to revamp and tweak the offerings of AIM and next summer my hope and prayer is to send over 5,000 teenagers on mission trips to 13 locations domestic and international.
It’s a huge undertaking and a lot to learn. I’m excited to build a team to take on this endeavor and move into the next season of my contribution to our mission.
We can always start by you telling the story. It’s a new adventure even for me, but it could also be for the teenagers in your church community. Check out www.adventures.org and look at Youth Group Missions.
I’ll keep you updated on our progress. Thanks again for your thoughts and prayers and advocating for the mission!
