I can’t believe I’m already in Month 8 of the race!! Time just seems to be getting faster and faster, but I’m grateful for every moment.
My squad and I bussed from Serbia to Romania almost a week ago now. This month, my team and another team on my squad are staying together and doing ministry together. We are partnering with Living Hope Church this month, which is a Protestant Church.
The focus of our ministry is to work with the gypsy population here. We visit their different communities to make friends with the adults and play with the kids. I have loved this so much. The kids are so kind and excited to play any and all types of games with us.
Many of the people in these communities, especially the women, do not have much hope for their lives. It’s extremely common that girls beginning at 18 enter into prostitution. The children are also exposed to sex at a very young age, so girls are having sex as early as 12 years old. Teen pregnancy is very common and getting married is abnormal.
Our hope is to show these people the love of Jesus as we interact with them. We pray that through our interactions, their hearts will be impacted and they will have more of an interest in learning about Jesus. Having a relationship with God can give them a hope and a future, instead of them believing they’re stuck in their circumstances. Please pray that their hearts will be opened!
This month is also going to be a short month because of the Parent Vision Trip! My parents will be flying out to Romania in two weeks to do ministry with me and my squad for five days in Draganesti, Romania. To say I’m excited is an understatement. I’m so pumped for them to experience a little bit of what my life has been like for the past 7 and 1/2 months. Please pray for them!
After the parent vision trip, my squad and I will have a debrief, switch teams (can’t believe my time with my second team is already over!), and heading to Ethiopia!!!
Thank you for all of your support and prayers!
