Sarah Ann has been on both of my teams! Team Surrendered and Team Sunshine. That means she’s been with me pretty much every second for the past six months, so she decided to write a blog about our time together!
As month six is coming to a close, I thought I’d share my experience of Jillian on the race.
Month one we were getting our feet wet. Sharing stories of life, trying to remember family and pet names, and engaging in late night debates about scriptures.
Belize was amazing and we became friends.
Honduras we had gotten to the point we were throwing things around. We threw jello at each other, had fruity donuts thrown at our chocolate beards, and she got to egg my head.
El Salvador we expanded our sisterhood from 6 to 25. Living at the orphanage I got to experience her beautiful and generous heart as we shopped intentionality and specifically for each girl in the house.
Vietnam we were little administration buddies. Scheduling appointments and meeting with various ministries in the country in hopes they might be a good fit for future partnerships. Her interest and investment in the individuals was incredible.
Team changes: we said Goodbye to Team Surrendered and Hello to Team SONshine.
Cambodia was filled with kids and English lessons. Watching her hold the smallest ones while others played soccer was one of my favorite things! Joy radiated from her face every second.
Albania she has grown in her spiritual giftings. Sharing her faith and knowledge with a boldness and a love that I admire. She is not afraid to ask the tough questions and push through for the answers.
I have never laughed so hard or paid so much attention to mini things.
Each month I learn something new about her. Each month I see her grow even more. But each month she has been 100% herself. She is full of love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness and self-control (even when it comes to ice cream!) ;D
