I sit on the bus looking the trees pass me by and I think how extraordinarily lucky I am to experience how I’m spending this year of my life from July 2013- June 2014. I’m experiencing something that many people only dream of.
Sometimes, I still feel like I’m in a dream, even through the long days of ministry and the countless number of cardboard beds I’ve slept on, God has given me this year to not only change the people around me but ultimately to change myself.
The World Race will not be what you expect it is…unless you expect it to be beautiful, sad, loving, hard, crazy, exhausting and just messy. Just when you start feeling comfortable is when life changes it forces you to stay uncomfortable and pushes you to be a self starter and to ultimately grow up. Own up to the choices you make.
As a squad leader, and leading 40+ girls we have dug deep into Gods word during girl time pushed our teams to be the church for each other and fought for accountability partners. Make sure you make your race that. If you want to grow in Christ than GROW IN CHRIST. Powerless people put that responsibility on other people but powerful people push others to do that by living it out on their own.
The race may be filled with people who are immature but make sure to keep living in the maturity God has given you and learn to laugh at yourself and others. If you get raised up as a squad leader you will make more decisions in a week than you have your whole life. But you know what? You are growing and isn’t that what life is about? To keep learning? We never really ever leave school.
Life seems to be one big classroom of learning and unfolding new things about life. It’s just in the classroom we learn the right answers and in life we teach ourselves the right answers. Keep learning. Keep growing. Keep loving. Keep uncomfortable.
