"21 girls can't live in the same room without wanting to hurt each other verbally, talk about each other, or simply hate each other." – my thoughts going in Month 2 of the race in Transnistria.

When we arrived at our compound the first day, we were VERY surprised. The month before we had bunk beds, a house and a kitchen in a beautiful little house in Romania.  Arriving in Transnistria looked like….well…a prison.  It was a huge cement building and we were ALL in a cement room with nothing on the floor and nothing on the walls. Just a few clothes lines.

I was worried. Very worried. Not only were we living with 21 girls but now we were all in the same room!?

A few days later, after being all settled in my awesome teammate Autumn had something to share and it hit me.

So the Lord God said to the serpent,

“Because you have done this,

“Cursed are you above all livestock
    and all wild animals!
You will crawl on your belly
    and you will eat dust
all the days of your life.
And I will put enmity
    between you and the woman,

    and between your offspring and hers;
he will crush your head,
and you will strike his heel.”

Huh?! The Lord God made enmity between the SERPENT and the WOMAN?! Satan must REALLY hate that 21 women are all in the same room loving Jesus and being counter cultural by loving one another.

There is SO much power in the Sisterhood of Christ.

God can use woman in amazing and mighty ways. A quote from one of my favorite books, Captivating sums it up perfectly.

“You see, women have been essential to every great move of God. Yes, Moses led the Isaelites out of Egypt, but only after his mother risked her life to save him! Closer to our time, Clara Barton was instrumental in starting the Red Cross. Harriet Beecher Stowe's Uncle Tom's Cabin put fire into people's heart to end slavery in the United States. Rosa Parks kicked the Civil Rights movement into gear with her quiet act of courage. Eunice Kennedy Shriver created the Special Olympics. Mother Teresa inspired the world by bringing love to countless thought unlovable. And millions of other women quietly change the world every day by bringing the love of God to those around them.”

This month has not been at all like my first thoughts when going into month 2. God has pushed us to love more, mend deep wounds, and talk to each other in person rather than talking about each other behind peoples backs. We have become more like woman in every way by hand washing clothes, giving up make-up, and watching our favorite woman at our compound cook us meals day after day.

We are learning to quietly change the world every day by bringing the love of God to those around us and it feels great.

Financial Update!

Right now, I am at $8,700! I need a total of $11,000 by October 1st. Which is in 5 weeks!

You are supplying me with Food, Shelter, and Travel!  While in Transnistria, we are building a church and a training center for women that were trafficked and rehabbed men and teaching English to kids! Thank you so much for everything thus far!
