Well, I did it. I SURVIVED TRAINING CAMP! For those of you who are unfamiliar with the World Race, training camp is a mandatory and intensive ten days of preparing for the race: physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Training camp focuses on letting go of guilt and shame and prepares racers for the mission field. Each day our teams attended sessions/classes that focused on things such as; how to serve our ministry hosts, preaching sermons, evangelism and discipleship, working with orphans and widows, and kids ministry. What I loved about training camp (sometimes) was being stretched. There were a lot of uncomfortable moments but the Lord taught me there is an opportunity for growth in various parts of my life.

During camp my teammates saw me at my best and worst. I was exhausted, sore, smelled, (I went three days without a shower, but who’s keeping track?!) and had to deal with old baggage that brought up a lot of emotions. Apart of me feels like I am unequipped to be with my team on the race. I know this is a lie from the enemy but in this moment I am struggling to find my purpose. Although a part of me feels this way, another part of me remains hopeful. I am still very excited and blessed to be doing ministry with a community that loves me so much.

As I wrap up my thoughts I would like to say thank you! Thank you to everyone who has donated and made it possible for me to go to training camp. Thank you for reminding me that the Lord provides when I least expect it. Thank you for all of the kind words and prayers. I firmly believe that without the support I would have come home day five or day six. Thank you for believing in me enough to send me out into the nations and spread the gospel of Jesus.

Lastly, if you’d like to pray for me and my team, here are some requests below!

1) That I meet my next financial goal of having $4,513.00 by September 16th!

2) The physical and mental health of all of my teammates. Some of us (including myself) have injuries and this is discouraging. We are also facing distractions since being back home. Please pray that these obstacles can be overcome.

Be sure to keep checking my blog this week because I have a lot of exciting news to share! If you enjoyed this post about my trip and want others to follow me on my WorldRace journey…feel free to repost it with all of your friends on Facebook, Twitter, etc. Thank you!
