Hello family and friends! I am now OFFICIALLY part of the WorldRace. Yay! I am very excited to share with you the next big chapter of my life.
For those of you who have known me personally over the last five years or so, you know that I’ve had experience on the missions field on various trips with multiple organizations. This includes building houses with Casas por Cristo in Juarez and Acuna, going to Honduras with CIY engage, and interning for an orphanage in Tijuana over this last summer. After my first missions trip I became very involved and passionate about serving the Hispanic community and limited myself to only that. As of recently, that has all changed for me. (AH!)
When I first signed up for the WR…I was anticipating and excited to go on the South America expedition which is a trip that does all 13 countries in South America in an eleven month period. I had been thinking that this trip made the most sense for me to go on considering my experience, passion for the Latino community, and ability to translate. I ABSOLUTELY had my mind made up that I would get accepted on this trip with no problem. Although I had been praying that I would do whatever was in the Lord’s will and go wherever He wanted me, I don’t think I sincerely meant it. When I got the phone call that I had been waiting for, I was excited to hear that I was accepted…but to my surprise I was told that I’d be going to VERY different countries. This has definitely been a learning curve for me. Not only has it made me realize I don’t know what’s always best for myself, but it made me realize that for a long time I had been limiting myself by not stepping outside of my comfort zone. I have been deep in prayer since that phone call and have accepted that the Lord has better for me than what I will ever have in store for myself. Here are the following countries I will be serving on my trip: Honduras, Guatemala, Nicaragua, Costa Rica, Kenya, Rwanda, Uganda, Cambodia, Malaysia, Thailand, and the Philippines!
As time passes I am more and more excited! Please pray that God continues His work in me. Pray that I will not continue to worry about money because if this is the Lord’s will, then He will provide. Lastly, pray that I develop a stronger spirit of boldness for sharing the gospel before entering the mission field.
Thanks so much for taking time out of your day to see what is going on in my life. If you have any questions or comments feel free to post below!
