Well I don’t really know what to write in this “about me” section. I have been sitting here and trying to thing about what I could possibly say! I would love to tell you that I am a great “Blogger”, and my posts will just keep you captivated and keep you wanting more, but I don’t want you to gain any false hope. … truth is whenever I start blogs, I isn’t long before I stop blogging.
Well this time it will be DIFFERENT!!! So here goes nothing… and hopefully I can figure out how to put pictures in this blog (I’m not the greatest at technology)
My name is Jillian Mangoni, and I am 22 years old. I will be 23 before my race starts! I have a mom and a dad, also an older brother who is 25. The reactions from my family about the race has been mixed. A lot of “why?” and “How’s” and even some “what?” ’s … but after questions were answered there have been a lot of “wow!” ’s and “I’m excited and proud of you” ’s.
The answer that I gave to all of those questions was “God.” He is my EVERYTHING! I cannot wait to go and travel the world with HIM always one step ahead and right there by my side!
I was born in Pennsylvania and then grew up in northern Virginia. When I was in high school, my parents split up and we moved to Florida. This is now where I reside. After finishing high school, I moved about an hour away from my family and went to school at Florida Gulf Coast University. I graduated with a Community Health degree. I currently am working in HR (human resources) at a local Target. I also am still a core leader in the college ministry at my church. I was an intern for them last year, and have just changed my role a little, and still love serving the Lord in this ministry.
My friends are what keep me going. They are the ones I will miss the most, and the ones that I know will support me the most through this trip.. well lets face it, many of them are either just out of college, or still in college, so by supporting I don’t mean financially…lol… but I know they will be right there with me for every step of the way!!
I think that is all I have to say in this post… there will be more to come in regular posts! So to end I will just leave you with a few random facts 🙂

* I also love the color green!
* I have never been out of the US
* I laugh at EVERYTHING – be careful of my cackle- I tend to be identified in a large crowd just by my laugh., and I apologize in advance to my future team mates. haha
* I am afraid of spiders and terrified about the ones I will most likely see on my journey
* Im 5’2 ½…. I get called short A LOT
* I am not a picky eater, I will try everything at least once!
