Ill Take “L” for two hundred…
So today we did an activity called “Treasure Hunting”. It is where you go out and “hunt” for God’s “treasure”. I know kind of a corny name for it, but it works. So before we went out we sat and we prayed for “clues” on what our person was going to look like or be around. We asked God to show us the people that need interacting and a “God touch” from us. We were told to pray for these people and see if we could understand Gods voice on the details of the people we are supposed to encounter. While going through the day if we see them, we were to go to them and pray for them and have a conversation with them.
Well of course this being out of my comfort zone, I didn’t think I was going to be very good at it. While I was praying for God to show me a person I was to go and pray for, all I could see was black strappy sandals, and capris. Well this being Ireland’s summer, there are many people fitting that dress code. When asked, to see if God would give me a name, I got nothing but the letter “L”. I continued to feel uncomfortable while doing this, and thought it was silly for me to go pick out someone that fit this very vague description.
Well they sent us off. I went out with a couple other girls, and started looking for my treasure. Well knowing the way the Lord talks to me, I saw this woman. She had those strappy sandals on, and capris. I backed out and made excuses as to why she was not the one I was supposed to approach. Well I finally mustered my strength and decided to go ahead and go find her(she had walked into a near by store). As soon as I walked in the door, she walked out, and she was walking really fast. I let her go, not wanting her to feel as if I was chasing her. I then knew that I blew my chance. I missed this one. I didn’t get to share the words that God had for that women. I was down. I was about to quit. About 20 minutes later, I was in the middle of a conversation with one of the girls, sitting down on a bench in the middle of town. There she was again. The lady walks right passed us. I immediately get up and walk towards her. I tapped her on the shoulder, and she touched my heart.
After introducing myself I asked her if there was something I could pray for her for. She said immediately for her brother in law “uLah”, and then proceeds to ask for prayer for “wiLLiam”. Then I asked for her name, she replied “LayLa”.
I was shocked; I love my God so much! He is so good! I got to pray for this woman, and she left an imprint on my heart. She was the sweetest little lady. We got to talking, and I also got to share what I will be doing this next year of my life. I am so thankful for my encounter with Layla, and will be praying for her and her family!
A picture to show the start of this process….

Its going to be a long road…. but its so beautiful!
