Upon getting into The WorldRace, I knew we would be doing things like landscaping and other physically demanding work. What I didn't expect was to be so darn tired and still have more to give.
This month, we are working with Pastor Arnoldo. He is a very amazing man. He started a church in San Pedro which is about 15 minutes from Quiche. When he started it, he had almost nothing but a vision to have a church and a school to teach kids both how to read and write but also how to love and be compassionate.
He now has a church in San Pedro about 20 minutes away. He also has a school next door to the church in San Pedro. He is now trying to build a conference center in between the two churches to have retreats. He came across this land that is almost exactly halfway between and he has named it Penuel, which means the face of God.
Now, I use these words like conference center and retreats and these are not like back in the states. They won't have plumbing or electricity. They will be more or less camping out here. But for these people, this is very special. It's not everyday that this sort of stuff happens for them.
Pastor Arnoldo is working very hard to give all he has to these people and it is very encouraging to watch as he pours into all these people. I have been blessed to watch these people work so hard to accomplish what God has in sight for them.
