Hey Everyone!
I am loving it here in Quiche, Guatemala! It's so different from home. I have learned to live without some of my favorite comforts. Things I have taken for granted all these years like:
Washers and Dryers. We do laundry in a plastic tub and hang them out to dry in the humidity. It works well. I miss the dryer a lot!
My bed! I miss that so much! My great full size bed with a down comforter is not being replaced well by a pad and sleeping bag.
Any kind of power tools. My team and one other are working on a property that they are making into a retreat like center for a few churches here. It's fun but we use sledge hammers and pick axes (spelling?). And that's how we tare down walls and build walkways. It's time consuming and hard but fun. I love it.
Right now, it's rainy season. So it rains a lot. And as I am from Colorado where it rains almost never. It's always Raining! But its super pretty here. I can't believe how pretty it is. I will try and put up a picture as soon as I can.
Wifi is in these little internet shops and we only get it once in a while and when we are all trying to get on it takes forever! But I will work on it.
