Let me tell you that the most overwhelming part of this trip so far is the idea of packing. Now I wouldn't call myself an over the top girly girl, but I am a typical american girl. So, with that entails a few pairs of shoes (too many), and a good amount of 'options' when it comes to what will I wear today.

This last Sunday I went to my local REI, where I met this nice sales guy named Scott. Now, Scott was a busy man. So I patiently waited (sort of), while he helped some other costumers. When he came up to me and asked, "Do you have any questions?" And I thought to myself I can't even frame a question I am so confused with my options. So I just spit out all that my trip with the world race would entail. Scott was great he showed me 7 different options of packs and the 'Bells and Whistles' that each different pack had. We tried every one of them on and I spent 10 mins walking around the store with each pack loaded with about 25lbs. This was so funny

Now after I tried on a million packs I tell Scott I will have to think about it and come back. He writes down some stuff for me and I am off. BUT I'm at REI so how can I not get distracted when you walk through the bags and pads. You should know REI is my favorite store. So I hit the Pads and I collapse on to this amazing pad that is like 10lbs and HUGE! I love it! But can not feasibly bring it with me. This nice guy Ben comes over and starts to help me. 20 mins later I decide I am not in a deciding mood and Ben is nice enough to give me some options to think about.

Moral of the story: I don't YET know what I am doing, but eventually I will figure it out..
