Lord, I want to see manna be provided in the physical form.”

I prayed that prayer as I fell asleep one night a couple of weeks ago.

To be honest, after I said that prayer I forgot about it, that is until I saw the Lord answer that simple prayer.

All of last week my team leader, Lindy, and I felt like the Lord wanted us to find the opportunity to pray for somebody.

We decided that we would take part of our day off to prayer walk and see if we could find anybody to pray for.

Before we went on our prayer walk we decided to go to a nearby cafe for our morning quiet time.

Then we decided we would go home for a little bit and prayer walk in the afternoon. On our way home we were talking about how excited we were to see what the Lord would do with our time of prayer.

And then we saw Belalo

“Mom. Please momma, bread? I need bread mom,” he said repeatedly as he approached us.

Belalo told us that his mom sent him to find bread but he didn’t have any money to buy it. He said he was 14 but he was so tiny he didn’t look any older than 10.

As we talked to him Lindy said she had a loaf of bread for him so he should follow us.

When we got to our house Lindy went inside to get the bread and I continued to talk to Belalo.

He told me that his mom is sick and she can’t work. It was just him and his mom at home so it was up to him to find food for them. He went on and on about their struggles as I silently thanked the Lord for letting me meet my new friend.

As Lindy came out with the bread he thanked her over and over. We talked to him a little more about his home situation and then we asked him if we could pray for him.

He agreed and there we stood in our front yard, praying for somebody the Lord literally placed right in front of us.

After we were done I sat down to journal the experience. As I began writing the Lord said: “Remember the manna.”

One of my favorite parts of this trip has been seeing how the Lord provides for the people we encounter, in ways both big and small. It has been such a blessing to have the Lord use me and my teammates to provide even small things for people we meet throughout this Race. I am so thankful for all of you who have made this Race possible for me.

I am coming up on my final deadline in one week. I am only $1400 away from being fully funded. Would you consider letting the Lord use you to help me?

Please don’t let “only having $10 or $20 to give” keep you from donating. The Lord can use every single bit.

Just look at my new friend. The Lord used a loaf of bread and a simple prayer to provide for him.
