A name can say a
lot about a person a so I figured that is a good place to start. The name Jill
means joyous and youthful. I can only hope that I live up to that name. Summing
everything into one word is a big job, but the Lord has sufficiently succeeded.
I truly believe that my name was not given to me by accident. He has a purpose
for me and I know that I don’t fully comprehend it, but with faith and grace I am
willing trudge on and submit to the Lord’s call.

A native Coloradoan
can be a rare find, but if you’re reading this you don’t have to look any further.
I grew up in Loveland, Colorado
and currently live in Colorado Springs.
Why would anyone want to live elsewhere?!? I absolutely love it! Summers are my
favorite and I can most likely be found climbing a 14er (Colorado’s tallest
peaks), waterskiing on the lake or playing volleyball in the park.

I absolutely love
my family! My sister, Michelle, is one of my best friends. I can tell her
anything and everything and she loves me the same. Thank goodness! I can always
count on my brother, Jeff, for comfort and a good laugh. My parents are amazing, Godly
people. They have shaped me into the person I am today and now more than ever I
am thankful for their love and support.

More recently I
have been overwhelmed by the Lord’s faithfulness and goodness. His fingerprints
have been all over The World Race application, interview and decision
processes. He has flung all the doors wide open and basically rolled out the
red carpet  so I am taking a step of faith. Sometimes it feels more like a
leap of faith rather than a step; but it is only through His strength that I am
able. When thinking about the race my flesh cringes and my stomach becomes
uneasy, but my spirit is completely at peace. I am learning and trying to hold
everything with an open hand including my expectations for the race. So, I
confess that this pilgrimage is both exciting and nerve racking, but I know
that this is the call on my life right now. I can’t wait to see what the next
year holds!!

Oh and one last
thing I should mention is that I am known for carrying large purses, otherwise
known as “mom bags” so this whole packing my life into a backpack is going to
be a challenge.
