Sometimes I feel like we walk with a boldness knowing the Lord is going to provide that we, or at least I, have taken it for granted. We are told to ask for things with expectation, “Ask and it will be given to you …” Matthew 7:7. So I ask with a faith that is expecting to receive – something I have learned a lot about over this past year. I have also been learning the downfall … losing the magnitude of the miracles. Taking things for granted and not having a heart full of praise and thanksgiving.
This is our third month in Europe and it is a very different month than the previous two. We had more freedom in choosing our ministry and ministry location for the month.
While in Romania we began seek the Lord for direction in regards to this month. We had a few ideas of things we would like to do or places we would like to go, but truthfully all the doors were wide open. Initially we had several contacts, but in the end we had three potential ministries to choose from – one in Croatia, one in Germany and one in Hungary. All of the contacts were very serious and in need of a team.
We spent the next few days praying and asking the Lord for direction. One day we began specifically praying for closed and open doors – we wanted the Lord to lead us directly! The next day we received and email from our Croatia contact; he said that our dates just didn’t line up anymore. We did a little dance in celebration! The following day we received an email from our Hungary contact saying that things we’re going to work anymore. We did a big dance in celebration! The doors for Croatia and Hungary were both closed. We were going to Germany! The Lord provided everything – there was no doubt in our minds that we were supposed to go to Germany! It was confirmed with affordable transportation too!
So here we are in Germany; and their is no doubt in my mind that this is exactly where we are supposed to be. We are working with a local youth group over the next few weeks – helping lead youth group gatherings, small groups, discipleship and mentoring with the youth. We will also be attending and leading workshops at Summer Camp in Belgium next week (June 9-14).
My heart is thankful that the Lord has directed us here and I’m excited what the Lord is doing in and through us here in Germany!
