My name is Jhackeline Cana…. But I prefer to be called Jhacky!
First of all…. Thank you God for everything!
I am excited, thrilled, scared, overwhelmed with mixed emotions, and beyond blessed that God has chosen me to start this amazing journey soon!
I was born in the beautiful country of Guatemala and I am soooo happy to say that in my World Race one of the countries that we’ll be working in will be Guatemala! At the age of 12 my parents decided to move us to the United States to be able to have a better way of living and to have more opportunities. At first the move was not easy, but eventually I became acclimated and I formed my life here and well; I love it! I love my Cali where I have grown up I wouldn’t change it for any other state! (I think!).
I come from a beautiful family of 5. I am truly blessed to say that I have amazing parents! My mom Carmen and daddy Alfredo have been the most supportive and loving parents, they have put up with me through thick and thin no matter what! They love their girls unconditionally and have shown us the love of God since we were little girls. And even when we have tried to stray away from God’s path and have given them crazy grieff at times, God has given them love and patience for us! I love you mom and daddy!
I have two younger sisters who I love! Mely is my middle sister and my best friend. We didn’t get along growing up since she was my little sister who would follow me around and always break my barbies! ….. But once she grew up… she became this amazing young lady that I am so blessed to have her by my side. I also thank God because she found an amazing husband who loves her and who also loves God and who loves and accepts my family for who we are! Yes… I love my brother-in-law Ramy!
Brenda is my baby sister! She’s my tough cookie! God blessed my family with my little sister when I was 15! so… you can imagine…. love this kiddoe so much and even as if she was like my own child! I know she hates it when I say it… but she’s my little sister and I just love her. Even though she’s the little one, she has grown up and has become a strong and beautiful young lady whom I am so proud to call her my sister. I know that God is molding her into an amazing young woman and that He has great plans for her life, and even though I will not be present in her HS graduation next year, I trust in God that she will get out of HS and go to college successfully and be happy no matter what because God is with her.
My family and I have been through a lot in our life, but even in the middle of every struggle and tribulation God has always been faithful and has never left us nor forsaken us. I tell you a lot about my family because of them and God I am who I am today.
I am a sensitive but strong and beautiful woman because I know who my Heavenly Father is, He is the King of Kings and he has called me His princess. I know that in God I have my identity and that He has called me to take this amazing yet challenging journey that I will embark on in 2015!
I am humbled that God has chosen me in the middle of my human weakness. I know that when I am weak God is my strength and that’s why I am sooo happy and blessed to soon be taking on this new journey! I will be traveling to 11 different countries that I could have never imagined but only God knows the challenges and adventures that are ahead of me. I told God one day; send me, I’ll go and I thank God because He has opened doors for me to go and show God’s love to many people in this world. I know that this journey won’t be easy; being away from my loving family and great friends and the comfort of my bed and leaving the girly girl that I am as I will live out of a backpack for 11 months! but I am trusting in God that this is what He wants for me at this point in my life.
I am blessed to have this chance to go around the WORLD with people I have never met and live in an authentic community spreading the good news and love of Jesus Christ. I can not believe that I have this chance to stretch and grow on many ways that I thought were even possible. To see God’s beauty around the world and to see what God is doing in other countries, to bring God’s love to the most needy. I am overwhelmed and a bit scared by the amount of money that I’ll have to raise to support myself on this trip, but I trust in God that He will provide.
And as some or many of you who are reading this may know that it is safe to say that I have never been camping. I have never pitched a tent or even given a thought to living out of a back pack for 11 months. Yet, I am beyond excited to take on every obstacle that will be thrown my way during this experience.
I hope that you will follow along with me during this next chapter of my life. I will try my best to be consistent with blogging/videos/updates, but who knows if I will have Wi-Fi in a little hut?! The easiest way to always get messages is to SUBSCRIBE!
I THANK YOU FOR TAKING THE TIME TO READ THIS AND GET TO KNOW A BIT ABOUT ME!
I THANK YOU IN ADVANCE FOR YOUR SUPPORT FINANCIALLY AND SPIRITUALLY!!
MAY GOD BLESS YOU ALL 🙂
