China was a country like no other I have been. Especially with the Gospel. Entering a country under so much persecution month one of the race was very stretching. God really challenged our team. For example, are we ok with not seeing fruit, prayer walks for days straight, getting arrested or risking it all for His name? We traveled to different college universities almost every day and made some friends, walked miles and miles in prayer, handed out a few Chinese bibles and went to a Chinese “Christian” Church and shared the gospel a few times. But to be completely honest the number 1 thing I’m taking away from this month is the way He stretched me in hearing His voice. I mentioned it in my other blogs but God just continues to explode out of the box I’ve had him in for so long. For me, putting him in a box looked like me saying things like, “God does this….. but he doesn’t do this”, “That’s just coincidence”, “Why pray about some things because he is Lord and knows all things”, “I don’t believe he moves that way”, “All things are my flesh and the enemy doesn’t speak to me”, “He doesn’t speak that way”. But MAN OH MAN! I have learned that this is all some nonsense forreal. Who am I? He is God and once you believe you have figured out the way He operates there is something very wrong. He can do all things and literally do whatever He wants. Allowing my mind to not limit him and let him come in my life any way He chooses has been insane to be a part of! He is so real!
One cool day of this was with Sam and Austin. It was our sabbath rest day and they went to Starbucks in the morning! They came back and both felt strongly that I was supposed to go somewhere with them. We get to the elevator and I ask Sam where too and she says, “I don’t know, you’re supposed to tell us”. I hear, right, instantly. So… we leave our apartment complex and go right. When we get as far right as we could go, I see a road in my mind (one we passed on the way to the police station). We get to the road and I hear, dead end and bikes. We had been trying to ride bikes for about a week so I initially thought that maybe we were supposed to ride bikes. As we are walking down the road it looks like a construction site, so Sam looks at her gps and tells us it’s a dead end for cars. We keep walking and there are abandoned bikes everywhere. We get half way down the road and pray to God where we should go. I felt like we should keep going and that there was a way out at the end of the road. We keep going and end up finding a walkway. I hear that we are going to find three clean neat bikes sitting in a row. Now I was confused because there were hundreds of abandon bikes everywhere so I was like, where in the world is that gonna be. But sure enough, when we turn the corner there are 3 neat perfectly clean bikes sitting by themselves at the corner of two streets. We try and ride them and the alarms go off so we figured we weren’t supposed to ride them lol. We stop and pray again at the corner asking which road to go down. At the exact same time me and Austin turn down the same road! We start walking and end up talking to 3 people on that road and had some interesting conversations and found 3 stray puppies. We get to the end of the road and are again praying about where to go next. Me and Austin end up sharing that both of us felt that we should not cross the street and that we should go into a specific building on the corner of the road. We go in and it’s a rehabilitation center. We ask if there is any way we can help or pray for people and that was quickly turned down and security was called lol. Austin knew that a doctor was going to walk down a specific set of stairs and he surely did a few seconds later. He was the head Doctor of the facility. We asked him if we could pray to Jesus for him and he declined. We continued to pray for the entire facility before we left. Afterwards we all felt so light, and felt like that was what we were supposed to do that day. But that was really only the half way point of crazy for that day lol!
