This is a season of thanksgiving. A season of celebration and rejoicing over what God has done, but it’s also a season of processing and of grieving the end of something so beautiful!
Almost eight months ago I came back from a trip that confirmed everything I love and wanted to continue my life fighting for…Jesus. Almost 5 months ago I committed to a new season of learning and growing. Center for Global Action was what I thought would be a painfully difficult season with crazy life lessons and incredible amounts of growth. While that still was a small part of it, this season actually became a time of learning to celebrate. Whether big things or little things, celebration is one of the most important parts of life!! To me celebrating means acknowledging all that has happened whether good or bad, and being thankful for the time I had within those things. It’s acknowledging God’s goodness despite the bad things of this world. Celebration is getting together with those around you and saying, “Wow! Look how far we’ve come! Look at person I am now and was then! Look at how much that sucked, but we got through it and thrived!” Celebration is crying on the couch with your best friend. Celebration is having a dance party in an empty movie theater to the greatest showman. Celebration is the contentment with living in the tension between joy and sorrow.
Celebration is Thankfulness!
It’s being thankful for who you are and loving who you are!
It’s being thankful for hard conversations and intense moments of growth.
It’s being thankful for all the places you’ve been and all the places you’ll go!
It’s being you! Authentically you! Your whole self! And letting that self be seen by the World.
Celebration is living radically.
Living wholly.
And living in constant wonder of more.
This has been a season of celebration.
So thank you all who’ve brought this far! Thank you for choosing me everyday! Thank you for all the thoughts and prayers you’ve sent my way! Thank you for keeping me in the program!! #fullyfunded
And thank you for loving me so well!! Today I’m celebrating you, my supporters, and all you have done!!!
So while my time at Center for Global Action is almost over, I want to celebrate big and come home with the expectancy that there is still more to come and more God is going to do!!
