So this morning I am running errands and getting some last minute things I need for TC. Listening to the radio as I drive and “Lift My Life Up” by Unspoken comes on. I have heard this song a million times and I can sing along to the whole song. It has never hit me like it did today. With struggling to get funding and having God provide almost 4000$ in two days, I am reminded of His amazing love and mercy. I am reminded that He has a plan and purpose for my life. It seems silly when I sit back and think of the worries that I let attack me. I find my self fighting God’s plan sometimes but I always end up falling and He continues to pick me back up and turn me in the right direction.
He gave me this illustration this morning that I think puts things into perspective.
I am standing at the bottom of a mountain. There is a tunnel that goes right through it and I can see the light at the end. I want to just walk through but God is telling me to climb. Looking up the mountain I see nothing but fog and steep sharp rocks.
Sometimes the path God tells you to take doesn’t look very pleasant. And more often than not the wrong path looks inviting and easy. But that is where trusting God comes in, because what you can’t see is that beyond the fog on the top of the mountain is the most miraculous view and through the tunnel there are theives and snakes ready to attack.
God has a plan for your life. Don’t doubt Him when He tells you what path to take. He loves you and wants you to spend eternal life with Him! You need to keep your mind on that and not be blinded by the things you think you want here on earth.
Please just take some time to let these lyrics sink in. I pray that whatever you may be doubting or worrying about today will be washed away and that God will give you peace and strength to climb that mountain!
