Helllllllloooooo friends!
Right now I am sitting in my bunk at a hostel in Georgetown, Penang. A little town in northern Malaysia. We arrived here on Tuesday after spending a week in Kuala Lumpur for debrief. KL was amazing and huge and a drastic change after living in Africa for three months.
Now that debrief is done we begin ministry for this month and it’s girls month!!! Wee! The ladies of team Pomme Frites (formerly known as Firebrand) and I will be spending a couple weeks going wherever and doing whatever God tells us to do. Thinking about the possibilities of what He could have us doing was exciting and a little intimidating at times but we decided to put our trust in Him and asked: What do you want us to do?
So for the next couple of weeks…. we will be……..
Living. Just living. We will be living our lives like “normal” everyday. Going to lunch. Walking around town. Going to the beach. Doing all the things we would be doing if we were here on vacation. This month there is no schedule, no meetings, no plan. We will just be walking around making friends and being the love and the light everywhere we go.
“Ministry is life and life is ministry” Amen! Hallelujah!
Just like everyday at home when we are just living God gives us opportunities to share the gospel. He brings people into our lives at the most unexpected times in the most unexpected ways. Sometimes we don’t even know who’s lives we have affected. And that’s okay. It doesn’t matter if we know how we affected someone in a conversation or a simple pass by, what matters is that we were a reflection of Jesus. That we are reflecting Jesus in everyday. Ministry shouldn’t be a 9-5. We should have His love so deep inside ourselves that His light is always shining through us. He will direct us where to go and tell us what to say and He will use everything we do to move in the hearts of the people we meet. His plan may not look like what we imagine. A lot of times we don’t get to see what He is doing under the surface and sometimes we do!
Glory to God for the the amazing things He is doing under the surface and right before our eyes here in Malaysia. I am so thankful to be here and to be serving with these amazing girls this month!
