So about a week ago I left Chiang Mai, Thailand where I got to work one on one with prostitutes and work in the slums with a group of kids. It was a tough month for me to say the least, but it was POWERFUL. I saw first hand what slavery looked like. We would watch men go inside of brothels as all the woman lined up so they could choose what teenage girl they wanted for the night. We listened to woman tell us about there families and say they can't even tell us how many kids they have because it's to many to count now..
A lot of people (including me) on my team struggled with spiritual warfare, which is quite common I hear for people going into those types of places where it is so spiritually dark and Satan has such a hold on the
people and there surroundings. A lot of us were struggling with depression, apathy, hopelessness, and night terrors. But when you take all of those things and compare it to the glory and goodness of our Lord, it doesn't even compare. When I think about the prostitute that accepted Christ as her Savior, those days I felt so depressed and was plagued with hopelessness, don't seem so bad anymore. Even though we witnessed things that were so horrible that will forever be images in my mind, I got to experience how God shows up in times of need. I got to experience His power in one of the darkest places I've ever been and most importantly, I got to see the power of prayer. The nights I felt so lonely and felt that every thing I was doing out in the streets wasn't going to make a difference, He consoled me and drew me near to Him to trust Him that big things were happening, even if I wasn't seeing it. My last night in Thailand consisted of visiting the ladies at the bar one last time and saying goodbye to them, and then going to the top of the coffee shop of where I lived, standing on the roof and just praying to God and feeling so Intimate with him…I will never forget those moments.
After a 10 hour bus ride to Bangkok, and a 25 hour train ride to Malaysia, we finally made it to our ministry site.

*Riding on a train to Malaysia was one of the most fun experiences I had on travel day yet. We spent over 20 hours on a train, and when it came time for bed, our seats turned into beds and we had curtains to cover our area so it was like we had our own little bedrooms! The guy in the left picture was setting up my bed for me….can you tell how excited I was?
I am in George Town, Malaysia. Malaysia is considered a closed country and the Malay people are considered an unreached people group. Meaning this, coming into Malaysia I was no longer a "missionary". I was a student coming to Malaysia to learn about the culture. Because the day the Islamic government finds out I'm here as a missionary, that could mean trouble. Let me explain this in a little bit more detail…
Where I'm located in Malaysia, there are three different people groups. There are the Malay people (Islamic), Indian people (Hinduism), and Chinese people (which follow a bunch of different religions but narrows down to idol worshiping). The government is fine with Indians becoming Christians and also with the Chinese people. They are allowed to be "converted" to Christianity. But the day someone tries to share Jesus with a Muslim is the day you can get in a lot of trouble and go to jail. It is not uncommon for Christians to be persecuted here. It is not uncommon for a Muslim to find out you are Christian and then come burn your house down. People are meeting in underground churches, locking the doors and locking the windows and learning about the only one and true living God. My church back at home was very good at making us aware of the persecuted church. But I understand now more than ever because now, I'm living it. These people have been living it. This is only the beginning of our month. We are learning so much about the culture here and the people. Please keep us in your prayers as we learn more about the people and how to effectively reach out to them and also pray for the safety of me and my whole squad as we are scattered all throughout Malaysia.
Also, July 1st is my last deadline for the World Race. I only need $4,500 more to be fully funded and to be able to complete the race If you feel lead to be apart of this adventure please click on the "support me" tab on the left of the page! Every but helps!
I am also in need of some personal money. Money for things like deoderant, toothpaste, clothes (clothes are falling apart from the rough conditions we are living in and how often we wear them). If you feel lead in any way to give to this , it would be a huge blessing. If you feel lead to give in this way you can contact me on facebook or email me at [email protected]
I thank you all in advanced for the amount of money and prayers you have all given already. Seriously, this trip would have not been possible without you,so I thank you from the bottom of my heart!
