Thought I would give you all an update, reason to celebrate, and need request…
God has done some incredible things over the last few weeks here in the Philippines. I have had the privilege of building relationships with the women connected to Samaritana. Those relationships include women who have escaped a life of prostitution and those actively making a living through prostitution. I have learned volumes from these women. More than anything I have been reminded that God loves us regardless. He does not love us in spite of the things in our lives that are displeasing to Him. He loves us alongside the things in our lives that do not please Him. I have been challenged this week to receive God’s love, even in the moments I displease Him. The additional challenge has been to receive His love and grace. When we receive those things, the life we lead begins to become more pleasing than displeasing. As a result we bring glory to God because the battle has already been won, and we have the love He gave on the cross 2000 years ago.
God’s love has been shown to me in multiple ways over the last year and even the last week. I speak particularly to the issue of financial support that has enabled me to follow God’s call to embark on the World Race. As you have read, it has been a life changing year in ways I will never be able to accurately measure. It is my prayer that we have been a blessing to those we have encountered and will continue to be such a blessing to those along our path. So, I once again take a moment to thank those of you who have supported this mission to love the poorest of the poor around the globe.
This past week we were financially blessed beyond measure. An anonymous donor committed to pay the remaining finances needed for all 25 World Racers on our squad to finish the race. I had about $800 needed to reach the $13,000 goal before the end of the year. Our squad as a whole had a need of roughly $15,000. I would like to publicly thank our “anonymous donor.” You are a blessing beyond measure, and I am confident the Lord will bless you 10-fold for your faithfulness to God’s Kingdom.
As I write this to celebrate with you, I also write of an additional need. The World Race will have cost me roughly $2,000 in out of pocket expenses that are able to be reimbursed if the finances come through. Those expenses include health/travel insurance, immunizations, and airfares for training, before, and after the race. It would be a blessing to be able to be reimbursed for those expenses. I ask you to prayerfully consider what you may be able to provide in additional support money. If you are able to contribute to this need, you may click on the “Support Me!” tab on the upper left hand of this page below my profile picture.
God Bless!!!
