We’re back from the great unknown…
Over the last month while in China I have been flooded with an array of perspectives on the world that have only caused me to appreciate the life God has given. My appreciation for being born in the land of the free and the brave has grown significantly in the last 4 weeks. We live in a country where we have overall freedom that provides us with abundant knowledge and a voice.
The fact is America is a country founded on trust in God. We have been blessed because of our foundation. The reality is many of us do not know we should appreciate the freedom we possess, I was one of those until the last 4 weeks. Our forefathers fought for that freedom. We live the life we live because they sought a land in which the people could come to know God personally. I now understand that the freedom we possess is a gift that majority of the world does not possess. In majority of the places I have traveled this year…God is not the foundation. Freedom is not the foundation. Life is not the foundation.
America was founded on God, freedom, and life…ultimately it was founded on the Kingdom of God. The Bible reveals that the Kingdom of God is coming and present at the same time. In Thailand they understand the concept of the Kingdom more than any people I have met. Their Kingdom was founded on the Kingdom of a man. Today they still revere the man over their kingdom. He receives glory, honor, and fear from his subjects. I have been reminded that as a country founded on the Kingdom of God we are called to glorify, honor, and fear God.
In China the people believe they have freedom, but it is simply because they do not know what freedom looks like. In America we do not know what the lack of freedom looks like, so we do not know it is a privilege. Today stop to revere the King of our Kingdom. He gave us hope, freedom, and life.
