At the end of my month in Thailand we had a mini debrief.  During this time one of our leaders shared with us something that he felt convicted about.  He encouraged us to really consider his talk and check our own lives regarding this topic.  Many people went back to their room that night feeling convicted, while others disagreed with what he had shared.

Stealing is a sin, is it not?  Throughout scripture we find various versus telling us “thou shall not steal.”  In the Old Testament we find this in the 10 Commandments and in the New Testament we continue to read about consequences of stealing as a sin.

If I were to ask you, “Have you stolen anything lately?” You would probably respond with a quick, “No.”  I know that was my answer when first asked this question.  Well, think a little bit harder.

Have you downloaded any movies from the Internet recently for free?  What about music?  Have you downloaded any computer programs or software from a torrent site?  Have you bought a knock off movie at a really good price?  Look through the content on your computer.  How many items do you own on your computer that you haven’t paid for?  Check out your DVD collection, how many of them are on burned disks?

Are you guilty of any of these things?  If you are, then you are stealing.  In our culture today we can easily talk our way out of feeling convicted of these things but, biblically stealing is a sin and if we are to walk in the role of Christians we are to follow what the Bible tells us.

I have definitely been convicted by this and have had many discussions with fellow World Racer’s regarding piracy and their personal views, but I would also love to hear what you readers have to say.  Please feel free to leave your response in the comment box below.  Use the comments section as a discussion board.

I look forward to hearing your opinions!
