Earlier this month I spent a week in Gainesville, Georgia with my team at training camp. Each day was a little different but consisted of worship, hearing from different speakers and being put in different scenarios that we may face on the field. throughout the week we were spiritually challenged in many ways, and it was throughout this process that I felt Gods love and heard his voice in a way I never have before. Over the past month I have struggled with the feeling that The World Race may not be where God wants me right now, and this was affirmed for me at training camp. This decision came with a lot of struggle, this is something that I once felt called to do and now I know God Saying “NO” with no real direction as to why not, but I was reminded of John 13:7 ” Jesus answered and said to him, What I am doing you do not understand now, but you will know after this”. I am so Grateful for each person that supported me throughout this process, it has changed me and grown me in my faith exponentially. I don’t know why God changed my plans but I do know that his plan is much better than mine, he has given me peace over this decision and I trust that he will lead me to whatever is next.
“I don’t know why God changed my plans at the last minute, but I trust him. I may never know this side of eternity, but I trust him”
Below I have listed a few notes that I took while listening to the sessions at training camp, Adventures in Missions does a fantastic job at selecting speakers for the sessions and I am so thankful for the the wisdom and guidance I received during my week there.
– God is not waiting for you to fail and failure is not permanent, you can press the reset button on your life at any time.
– whatever you do, do it with excellence and keep God in it and ask God what he wants you to do with it.
– no one is responsible for your walk with God but you
– Be with someone who knows what they want, BE someone who knows what they want
– God is good, the devil is bad and we are the only variable
– Don’t despise small beginnings
– God understands the seasons we go through and some things are meant for just you. It may not be for you to share but it is for you to see.
– It is my job to love, the holy spirits job to convict, Jesus job to save and Gods job to judge
– We are all created with different purposes to further the kingdom
– The holy spirit has habitation rights not visitation rights to your heart.
– We are not doing life FOR him we are doing life WITH him
– What you believe about yourself will shape the way you live your life
– You have never and will never have to earn Gods love
– We spend so much time being upset about our imperfections when was the last time you thanked God for making you exactly who you are
– Whatever your hearts desire is, God put that there for a reason and he will bless that
– We are born to be LOVED
– I don’t have to accomplish anything in life other than to receive his love and take the next step
