A lot has happened these last couple months!

I just recently moved back to Ohio from Baton Rouge, Louisiana. I was doing a year of service in Baton Rouge, through an Americorps program called City Year. I worked in a local charter school and provided resources to help students achieve academic growth throughout the year and success for their future. It was an amazing experience that challenged me and also helped me grow as a future educator and person all together. I already miss the amazing people and kids that I met down there and wouldn’t have traded this year for anything, they will forever be in my thoughts and prayers.

On an unexpected note, when I was moving out we discovered mold in my apartment. It was in my bathroom and also the heating and cooling unit, so it was airborne every time the air/heat was on. Since I was living in it I was experiencing some health problems but did not understand why. Some of the health symptoms I was experiencing were: my hair was falling out pretty bad, I was having continual sinus infections and ear aches, constant fatigue, and anxiety. Which I found out later are all symptoms of mold contamination; however, I had no idea at that time why I was experiencing all these random symptoms. I just thank God that I now know what was wrong and can work to fix it. My mom and I are now busy washing all my things from Louisiana so that we do not bring the mold into my house back here in Ohio.

So, due to the timing and health conditions I am recently facing I decided to push back my start date for the World Race to January 2018! I believe this is what is best for me right now and it gives me extra time to prepare and get healthy for this adventure. I am already feeling healthier and stronger since being out of that environment and thanking God for his constant healing and guidance throughout this process. I guess God really wanted me to push back my start date because it all worked out perfectly! My route did slightly change and now the 11 countries I will be going to are: Cote d’lvoire, Ghana, Cambodia, Thailand, Myanmar, India, Nepal, Belize, Guatemala, El Salvador, and Nicaragua!! I am extremely excited for this route and eager to see what God will do in each of these countries through my team and I.

Exciting news!!

I have almost $2,000 and am only $3,000 away from my first deadline of $5,000 by September!

To help with reaching that deadline, I will be having a Spaghetti Dinner Fundraiser event on Saturday, July 29th from 6-10PM. There will be food & music, baskets, and silent auction items! For more information or to buy tickets for it please contact me through email at [email protected]

(& The hall for the event was donated free of charge- GOD IS SO GOOD!)
