Take me under.

Wash me out.

Clean me from the inside out.

Have all my shame and worries & wash them away with the current.

Little by little like a rising tide.

Have the sand kiss my cheek, the sun pour it’s light on me.

Let me feel your love take me in and pull me under.

Heal me with a drop of the water.

Just a single drop will do.

Help me to step off the shore & walk on the water.

Call me out of the boat,

so I can dive in without a dread of the future.

Without the judgment of the crowd on the shore.

And the disciples said to Jesus,

don’t you care if we drown?”

But He said to them,

“Why are you so fearful? How is it that you have no faith?”

[Mark 4:38;40]

Maybe drowning was the purpose.

Because that’s where He shows us his power and glory.

In the deep, unknown where our abilities fail

and He’s the only one who can pull us to the light.

The only one who can calm the waters with a single word.

“And the wind ceased and there was a great calm.” [Mark 4:39]

So Lord, I want you to completely take me under.

Change every cell in me as you baptize me with your love.

Take it all, every blemish and scar.

& completely drown me.
