I am alive and been in Nicaragua for a week now!
Travel days were interesting and all 20 of us crowded on a bus for 30 some hours. Border crossings are another whole story on its own. First ferry ride for me to make it Ometepe Island.
We are staying at what used to be an orphanage but now mixed with different programs and such. we have a pretty view of the lake where we are, the sunsets are amazing. The kids are fun to have around. It is also all squad month so all 20 of us girls are here spending the month together.
Where we are sleeping, there’s geckos crawling on the walls. We have been told about scorpions and tarantulas. It’s been quite the experience here, with already having a sink fall off the wall and water flooded in the room and got some of the squadmates stuff wet.
We been doing kitchen duty and yardwork for the past week but will have different jobs each week so we’ll see what we’re doing next week! We got some fun stuff planned for the weekend!
