We knew we were supposed to come here. We all had a peace about it. Now is the hard part—trusting that God is going to show up. And He has!!
Our team doesn’t have an assigned host this month. We are free to find our own ministry. And we thought we did (we still may, but we haven’t heard back from the guy yet).
So we boarded a ferry and headed to Tioman Island—a beautiful piece of paradise, filled with amazingly friendly people and beautiful views!!
When we arrived, we discovered that ferry rides around the island are EXPENSIVE! We had a campsite to stay, which was within budget, but with the ferry ride to the site—no way!!
So we sat on the beach, wondering what we were going to do until we heard back from a potential host. Everyone scattered to figure out a plan B and C.
But God had brought the RIGHT plan to us. His name is Deo. We met him on our ferry, and he sat down with our team on the island to chat. With Deo’s help, we found a cheap place to camp—in the backyard of a nice beach resort—and helped get a cheap ferry to the location. Deo has joined us in travels, conversations and meals. He has been such a blessing to us, and he is just a visitor to the island just like us!!
We now have a really nice place to stay until we hear from our hosts, and we’ve made friends in the neighborhood. This place is more than we expected—which is just like the Lord to do—exceed our expectactions!! We may have found a dive shop that wants help with CPR education and updates!!
God has been so good and so faithful! We are learning to let go of the reigns because God’s plan is so much better than ours!! And we feel blessed to be a part of it!
