Anxious. Nervous. Wondering. Thone crazy emotions that fills your gut when you realize the train left without you.

Stranded. That’s what we were. Stranded.

I wanted to try to jump on the moving train, which was quickly gaining speed. But not all three could jump on at the same time. And it was moving too fast for the little bit of “runway” we had left if we chose to run along with the train. Chelsea was right. We can’t jump.

We stood and stared as the end of the train passed us. I wasn’t sure which boxcar we rode on anyway.

That’s frustrating. They said we were here for a 3 hour layover. And now they are gone!

So…we are somewhere between Hampi and Hyderabad. At a train station in an unknown location. Nobody speaks English. There’s no WiFi to call someone and let them know we’d be late for the parent day. We have not working cell phones. Our bags are on the train.

Chelsea, Daniel and I chatted over a plan—we’d all buy a new train ticket and hope that our teammates who remained on the train would grab our bags—I was realllllly hoping that they would search for my bag, which I hid well under my seat so that nobody would know it’s there!

After about 30 minutes, out of nowhere, Brant and Jenna appear! “Oh good! You’re stranded too! At least we have a phone that works now”.

“We aren’t stranded. They disconnected our portion of the train and parked it two rails over!!” Brant informed us.

Makes sense. Note to self—search all rails when you think the train left you. Perhaps they just moved the train 2 rails over!
