Working in the school has been amazing!! Each day, we arrived to a courtyard full of students. They are excited to see us! As we enter each classroom, the class cheers and runs to the door to give us hugs!! It’s amazing!!!
We’ve learned to be creative and adapt to the grades that we teach. Some students need basic learning (colors, numbers, shapes), while some need more advanced stuff (time, directions, food, etc). We usually plan the classes the night before (which I’ve been told by the teachers on the team “That’s normal! You are real teachers now!!” It’s kind of ironic that the professional teachers on the team are teaching sports!! But it’s great!!
Some days, certain grades do not show up. During these times, we help teach the sports. Fortunately, it’s been with all the 4-6 year-olds!!! They are so precious!!
Once a week, we go to another school for challenged students (kids who suffered from abuse and need special support.) We help them practice soccer, play soccer tournaments against them, and cheer them on as they play. Before or after each session, we are able to share a message with them.
But one of the most enjoyable parts of the school is recess!! Spending time with the students, playing games with them, and allowing them to teach us!! I really enjoy loving on them!!
The girls love playing with hair. I don’t mind 🙂
Some students love to read, so we spend recess reading the Bible with them.
It’s been such a blessing to be around all these smiling faces!!!
I never thought I would be a teacher! While it’s been challenging at times, I can’t image doing anything else right now!!
*I apologize that I’m not in many pics. It’s hard to be involved while being the photographer! I will try to work on that!! But thanks to Debbie from Canada, I have a few!!!
