If the whole world could have the heart of these islanders, this world would be radically changed!!

We’ve been in Tioman Island for nearly a week, and we’ve been cared for extensively by the natives here.  Everywhere we walk, they strike up conversations with us.  They invite us to sit with them and drink tea or eat biscuits.  They offer us bike rides to their properties to pick cherry apples or coconuts.  They allow us to camp in their yards.

As I write this, the guy sitting at the table next to me just offered me some of his pizza…and he’s not taking no for an answer!!  Oh, and chicken wings. And soda!

They carry such a pride for their island life and are willing to share every aspect of it with us, even if they don’t get anything in return.

We’ve met so many people and shared so many stories.  Taylor and I helped a scuba instructor with English and medical terminology for his business.  Rachel and Chelsea have been evangelizing to two men; one is reading the Bible and another book, with Rachel answering questions and filling in gaps. Both men have extended their vacations to spend more time with us.

The things we are seeing and doing are not normal! But God hadn’t called us to live normal lives.  He is calling us beyond the borders and boundaries!

We are blessed by the people, the views and the food, and we are excited for another two weeks here to continue building relationships, sharing the gospel and offering a helping hand!
