Here are some photos from our month in Ethiopia!

Taylor and I after church

One day, Senna decided to trace me.  Then, after others got traced, the whole porch looked like a crime scene.  Haha

The winning scavenger hunt team- Caitlin, Sisay, Senna, Tsintu, and I!

In this photo, you can see the foundation for the new Training Center building!  The kid’s houses are just down the hill.

Tiruna- He’s 100% Awake.

Dawit loves to color.

In the afternoon, we did kid’s ministry.  In the morning, we made bricks.  When we weren’t makin’ them, we were movin’ them.  We fondly refer to this pavilion as the “Brick House.”

This is Balcha. Just look at this lil cutie

Gitu

Our scavenger hunt team with the “animal” we found.  Jolee makes a great Zebra!

Sometimes Senna’s braids came out.  So she just looked like this.  So cute.

Abiti

Senna and I, still not cutting the grass.

Mrs. Hendren (Taylor’s mom) came to visit us in Ethiopia after coming to Rwanda for work.  We went to a traditional Ethiopian cultural dinner to eat Injera.  We also had to plan a few logistical things for W Squad!  This is Luke, myself, Andrea, Mrs. Hendren, and Taylor.

Maskarum

Ermias eating these little plants the kids call “yummies.”

Ermias in his natural state.  I keep joking to the squad that I will set this photo as their phone background.  I love this picture of him.

Senna in a party hat.  It wasn’t her birthday, but she looked so cute we let her keep it on!

These are all the “animals” we had to find during the scavenger hunt!

Interestingly enough, Christmas was while we were in Ethiopia in January.  And it is only 2010 in Ethiopia.  To celebrate, we put on a Christmas play for the kids.  Taylor, Matt, and Jackie made great wise men!  Merry Christmas 2010!

R W A N D A –

We flew to Rwanda at the end of the month.  Upon arriving, we had a debrief.  At debrief, our coaches and World Race leadership come out for a week and help us debrief team dynamic and ministry.  We also rest and do fun activities as a squad to refuel before heading out to ministry for another month.
