So, I love music. I love to jam and scream sing in the car. I love to sing in the shower. And, I have memorized an embarassing amount of the music in Les Miserables. Music is great, but y’all, music for Jesus is even better.
Worship through song is such a huge part of our walk with Jesus! The Israelites had corporate worship, Mariam had her song, and David literally wrote a songbook. I play on the worship team at my church and I feel so humbled and honored to play a role in people connecting to the Father through music.
So far on the Race, The Lord has been teaching me the importance of intimate time with Him. This time with the Lord is the fuel for our lives and for everything we do. It fuels our ministry and how we view others. I have asked the Lord to give me a song about Him and what He is doing each month I’m on the Race! He’s been faithful to me and I really feel called to share it with you! These videos will be pretty raw and unedited, so just try to give me grace on that:)
The Lord put this song in my heart before leaving for the race. I was feeling a lot of anxiety and fear about leaving for a year. And, I felt really unqualified to go on this (which I am, but Jesus stands in the gaps!). But, as I prayed through this, the Lord reminded me that I am seen and designed by Him. He created me and crafted every aspect of me to be a vessel for Himself. He doesn’t hide from us and He isn’t scared of the things we’ve gone through or things we’ve done. It’s so good to rest in His power and His sovereignty. Enjoy!
Here are the lyrics:
my love won’t keep you in the dark my love will never leave
my love does not manipulate and I don’t have to scheme for anything
And of all that I’ve created the thing that I want most I want your heart and I want all of you and I want us to be close
I have loved you
From before time began
And I chose you
You are safe here in my hands
And no matter where we go,
For the rest of your life I promise you will never be alone
I was me at the beginning, I’m the one who knew you first
I Chose your laugh and the shape of your smile and in me you find your worth
I’m not afraid of what you’ve done and I’m not afraid of where you’ve been
Remember my love can make you new and you’ve always been part of my plan
Come and sit
Come and wait
Come and be with me
Come and sit
Come and wait
While I make you free
